A. Andrew Marwede
Serious Stewardship LLC’s principal and founder, A. Andrew Marwede, has devoted his entire 18-year career to designing and/or executing investment strategies for large investors including wealthy families and individuals, corporations, pension funds, endowments and investment banks.
Before his decision to found Serious Stewardship LLC, Mr. Marwede managed diversified public and private investment portfolios for large individual and corporate investors at Credit Suisse First Boston in Chicago.  Prior to that, Mr. Marwede was a trader of derivatives and convertible securities on the Nomura Securities’ trading desk in New York.  His area of specialization was deconstructing hybrid securities (i.e. convertible stocks and bonds) into their component parts (typically a fixed-income, equity, currency and option component).
It was during his time in New York that Mr. Marwede developed his passion for discovering, understanding and controlling embedded securities risks in greater detail.  It was the unique synergy of these two experiences -- state-of-the-art risk control and private portfolio design -- that made it possible for Mr. Marwede to envision and create a truly unique firm, Serious Stewardship LLC.
By drawing on his high-level capital markets experience, requiring travel to the major financial centers of the world (London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, Chicago), Mr. Marwede is able to leverage his well-developed Rolodex of financial, legal and capital markets professionals across the United States and around the world for the benefit of the firm's clients.
A fourth-generation resident of Lake Forest, Illinois, Mr. Marwede’s educational experience includes a B.A. from Yale University, where he was a 3-year letter-winner in football, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
